Notes:
A. The authorized corridor for the PHNST in this region is between Cumberland, Maryland, and the southern terminus of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail in Ohiopyle, Penn. The Laurel Highland Hiking Trail and the C&O Canal Towpath are recognized as segments of the PHNST.
B. Five separate projects are underway along the AHT South Extension. These include major tunnel rehabilitation, improvements to the Keystone Viaducts, and three trail surfacing projects. The estimated cost of projects along the AHT South Extension is approximately $13,000,000.
C. The Steel Valley Trail uses a temporary on-road facility.
