  • Metropolitan Washington Regional Outings Program (MWROP) of the Sierra Club sponsors outings on behalf of the Washington Metropolitan Area Sierra Clubs (the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland and Virginia).
     
  • Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC), through volunteer efforts, education and advocacy, acquires, maintains and protects the trail and lands of the Appalachian Trail, other trails and related facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region for the enjoyment of present and future hikers.
     
  • Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST)

  • Potomac Heritage Trail Network (PHTnetwork) is a Yahoo group for trail planners and advocates of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail to share information.
     
  • Potomac River Greenways Coalition (PRGC) promotes the development of multi-use,  environmentally friendly trails in stream valleys and other greenway corridors within the Potomac River Basin.
     
  • Potomac Trail Council (PTC) is an alliance of community organizations and local agencies committed to the development, protection, interpretation and celebration of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST). The Potomac Heritage Council started the Potomac Heritage Trail Association as a membership organization for individuals, groups, and corporations interested in helping build and advocate for the PHNST. The PTC Links Page has an extensive list of organizations involved with the PHNST.
     
  • Prince William Conservation Alliance is nonprofit organization working to promote development of the Potomac Heritage Trail and ensure connections to a countywide trail network. The Alliance sponsors hikes and other programs aimed at increasing community participation in stewardship activities and local conservation choices.
